A Lame Man Healed – King David Haynes Interview
Hello everyone everywhere, this is Pastor Robert Thibodeau and I want to welcome you to the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast! Praise God! We are so blessed each and every time you join us and I am excited to introduce you to our special guest today.
I was invited to be a guest on a podcast called, “Slaying Your Giants.” It’s host is a wonderful man of God that has a story to tell – and he has done so, not just through the podcast, but also in a just released book, called “A Lame Man Healed: How The Son of a Football Star Overcame Addiction Through Faith.”
King David Haynes was delivered from a 25 year addiction to crack cocaine. His father was a professional football player back in the early 1960’s and helped the Dallas Texans defeat the Houston Oilers in a the American Football League Championship. This was back when there was an American Football League and a National Football League, much like the American League and National League in baseball. Ultimately, they merged into what is now the National Football League.
King David Haynes wrote this book as a testimony to the victory, healing and restored dignity that he obtained when God invaded his life while serving a prison sentence. This book was written with the intent of revealing the calamity in his life that resulted and was fueled by his addiction and to let his readers know there is always hope, even in the most desperate cases. The book gives the family members of the addict hope that, despite the length or severity of the addiction, there IS hope! Amen!

Ok – I always start with this question right out the gate. I want you to tell us, in your own words, “Who is King David Haynes?”
Now, before I get into the book, I want to mention your outreach ministry, “Prodigal Sons
Re-entry Ministry.” Tell us briefly about this ministry…
Tell us about your book. It was just released in September, correct?
You say that “God told you to write this book” while you were still in prison. Explain what happened and how you started to do that.
It could not have been easy project to undertake while in prison? What challenges did you have in writing this book while incarcerated?
Tell us about your conversion experience in prison?
How does your book help those with addictions?
I understand your book gives encouragement to family members as well…basically, never give up hope. Have you received any feedback from family members of addicts who finally achieved the breakthrough they had been praying for?
You also have a podcast, “Slaying Your Giants.” I had the privilege of being a guest on your podcast several months ago. How is your podcast helping you to minister hope to the hopeless and fulfill your calling?
I want to jump back on the topic of your book for a moment. Walk us through what the reader can expect as they begin to read your book?

Folks, I really want to encourage you to get a copy of the book, “A Lame Man Healed: How The Son of a Football Star Overcame Addiction Through Faith.” This book was written to change people’s lives. This book was written to give, as I mentioned, hope to the hopeless. You know someone that needs this book. As a matter of fact, if you want to be honest, you probably know two, three or more people that can use this book. You need to purchase at least ONE copy…I recommend you get three or four and pass them around.
Pastor, you know people, right now inside your church, that can use this inspiration. You should spend some church funds and have them on hand to give up if someone comes up to you with an addiction problem, personally or as a family member. You need to make this happen.
By doing so, not only will you help those that need help – but you will help our brother who wrote this book from his heart as well.
