Episode 258 – In The Flesh – The Story of Jesus as Told by Him – Michael Gabriele pt 2
Show Notes for Michael Gabriele Interview – pt 2
Today I have the distinct pleasure to introduce to you the author of a newly published book, “in the Flesh” – Michael Gabriele. Michael is a graduate of Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland. He has received first place honors at the Hollywood Film Festival for fiction writing and has been a professional writer of over 25 years. I had the privilege of sitting down with Michael for a cup of coffee weeks ago, which is unique because it is rarely I ever get to meet one of our guests in person…but Michael lives just up the Beltway from me a bit – so I want you to welcome to the program, Michael Gabriele. Michael, thank you for coming on the program today.
Now, we are here to talk about your latest book, “In The Flesh.” For our audience, “In the Flesh” is a first person account of the four Gospel’s, depicting the life of Christ through the eyes of Jesus. The book is written as if you were sitting down with Jesus for a cup of coffee and you just asked him, “Lord, tell me in your own words – the story of your life.” And that is how this book is written. It will help you to better understand and appreciate what Jesus was undertaking for YOU, for me, for Michael – for all of humankind. This is a first-person novel of the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus. It explores more deeply his personal thoughts, joys, fears, frustrations, even his most profound prayers, as he walked this earth in the flesh. It will help you to understand that this was such a formidable undertaking that Jesus was embarking on…and Michael’s book will help you to fully appreciate those facts – especially at this time of year. At the time of this recording, we are entering the Passover Season, commonly referred to falsely as “Easter.” I like calling it “Resurrection Sunday,” myself…but this is the time of year this recording is being made…
How long did it take you to write this book?
As you were writing this book, there were probably parts you related to more personally, more on a personal revelation type of level, than others. What parts were the more meaningful to you?
Jesus was the original story of networking…correct?
Now, how closely does “In The Flesh” stick to the Gospel narrative? I mean, it is a fictional account…I guess it would more correctly stated as a “semi-fictional” account. But how closely does it stick the traditional narrative?
Tell us about the opening scene…
Some people may take offense to such an undertaking as this. I mean, “who do you think you are” to write a fictional account of the life of Jesus…it’s blasphemy! What would you like to say to those people?
Well, some would say you stretched the “creative license” string just a bit too far when you write about the Lord of Glory, the Son of God. What is your response to them? Did you go too far?
Tell us what your favorite part of the book is…I mean, you have to have a “favorite” part, right?
If there is one thing that you would like the readers of this book to take away from reading “In The Flesh” – what would that be?
If someone is contemplating the purchase of this book, what would you say to convince them this is something they should do…
Michael, before we close, is there anything you would like to tell our listeners concerning this book that we have not covered here?
If someone wanted to reach out to you, to ask a question or to ask you to come and speak at their church or meeting – or even to do an interview such as this, how can they get ahold of you?
Ok – and your book is available on Amazon, correct? Is it brick and mortar bookstores yet?
I will be putting links to all of this in the show notes…
Well, Michael, it was indeed a great privilege to have you on the program today and I wish you success with this book, “In The Flesh.” Folks, this is a GREAT BOOK. I would ask each of you to buy a copy and read it…within the first two chapters, I guarantee you WILL be hooked! Amen!
For Michael Gabriele and myself, this is Pastor Bob reminding you to BE BLESSED IN ALL THAT YOU DO and to LOOK UP – for your redemption is drawing near!
