For those that may not have heard our prior interviews, the last interview as about a year ago and we have many new listeners since then, tell us in your own words, “Who is Ken Rupert?”
Before we get into the five nuggets of wisdom that I want to ask you about, how did you get started in the “Black Belt Financial System” that you’ve perfected?
These are definitely trying times right now. I remember you talking about how someone has to take steps to prepare for unprecedented times on our prior interviews. Has that type of preparation helped you in the day and time we find ourselves now?
I remember last time, you shared how each family needs to have three major accounts. A checking account, a savings account and a separate emergency account. Can you briefly go over that information again for our listeners? I believe some people will be able to better relate to what you were talking about now than they could before.
3 major accounts:
- Checking worth 1.5 times your expenses
- Savings worth 1.5 times the VALUE of your monthly expenses (not a cash flow account – use it as a buffer).
- Emergency Account equal to your annual gross income! This will allow you to actually go about 24 months to withstand any financial impact (layoff, etc.). Because you will cut expenses, of course?
Let’s talk about these “Five Nuggets of Wisdom” that you are sharing and teaching your clients. What is Nugget #1?
- You cannot produce gold without digging below the surface.
The explanation is obvious – but how does that apply to people and their finances today?
They say the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, but the second-best time is today. I believe the services you offer will benefit someone – even though it may not help them today…I believe everything we have seen happen has convinced people to take some type of action for the future.
