Keeping Our 2ndAmendment Rights – Alan Gottlieb
Freedom. The Bill of Rights. The Constitution. All of these things mean a lot here in America. Some nations that tried to pattern themselves after the United States have failed. And there is one, very basic reason, why they have failed.
At some point in time, those in charge decided it would be easier to manage the people by taking away their ability to own guns. The right to “Keep and Bear Arms” in the 2ndAmendment to the Constitution is a fundamental right that belongs to American’s. It has been challenged repeatedly by those who want to dismantle the freedom’s this nation enjoys. I’m talking mainly about the “progressive’s” on the liberal, socialist leaning left.
Oh, they never tell you it is so they can grab more power and keep you under subjection – they’re too smart to do that! But what they say is, “there is too much violence going on. So to curb the violence, we MUST take guns off the street.” But the problem is, if criminals are not allowed, by law, to possess guns now – and they do say anyway (because they are criminals and do not follow the law to begin with), then only the “law abiding people” will obey the new laws and turn over their guns.
Which means only two sets of people will have guns. Criminals, who will prey on innocent people even more so than they do now. And the Government. And once the inherent ability to keep despot government leaders in check and the millions of guns that basically enforce our freedom is removed, they will have no fear of using force to crack down on those who do not believe the same way they do.
This premise has been proven over and over and over through out the world. Go check the history of various nations to see if I’m not correct.
Well, the 2ndAmendment Foundation is one organization that is fighting the “good fight of Faith” on our behalf. Today’s guest will be giving us some insight into the current battles the leftist leaders are waging in their effort to bring YOU under subjection and instill their socialist ideologies on this nation.
Alan M. Gottlieb is Founder of the Second Amendment Foundation. He is also the author or co-author of numerous books and has published articles in the San Francisco Examiner, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune and USA Today. Alan has also appeared on over 6,000 TV and radio talk shows, including Lou Dobbs, ABC’s 20-20, The O’Reilly Show, MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews, the CBC Morning Show, Laura Ingram’s show, BBC, NBC Today Show, Good Morning America and also China TV – and now, “The Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast!” Amen!
Help me welcome to the program, Alan Gottlieb. Alan it is a blessing to have you on the program today.
Ok. Let me start, as I always do, with this question first. Other than that brief bio I just read, tell us in your own words, “Who is Alan Gottlieb?”
When did you get involved with 2ndAmendment issues and what was the “spark” that started you down this path?
I grew up around guns. I came from a hunting family. I received my first BB gun when I was 7. My first shotgun at 12. My first rifle at 14. By the time I joined the Army at 18, I qualified as an Expert in the rifle, Pistol and shotgun as well as various other weapons in the Army. That continued throughout my military and my law enforcement career. I look back and realize it was because I was taught how to handle and use weapons as a youngster.
Why can’t society come to terms with the understanding that if you teach people how to act responsibly when they are young, they will generally do so as they get older? Especially concerning guns?
Do you agree, at least in premise, that some background checks are necessary concerning purchasing guns – especially handguns? But what “Pandora’s Box” would be opened if they required universal registration?
What are some of the major news events concerning the attempts to revoke the 2ndAmendment (or drastically alter the 2ndAmendment)?
We hear some leftist politicians saying, “I will not abolish the 2ndAmendment, but I will enact changes to bring it line with modern life.” What the heck does that mean?
History has shown that the very fact that tens of millions of citizens own guns. They also realize and understand that if they tried to invade this country, it is not just the military they will have to fight. If these other nations understand this, we should also realize that those politicians who want to grab more and more power understand it as well. Correct?
But if Congress should pass laws that whittle away at the 2ndAmendment, all in the name of “fighting crime” – they will succeed in getting us to the point that they will win. Correct?
Fighting crime is right up there with “kissing babies” in the political arena. Their argument is “Who would not want to see less crime?” They keep pointing to the number of shootings and then they make the correlation that “shooting = guns” and “less guns = less shootings.”
Rush Limbaugh calls these people that accept that argument, “Low information voters.” I agree with that statement. And I believe that it goes back to the way they have, basically cut the way history and government is taught in the public schools today. If they do not go over the History of America and our form of government; if they do not go over the intent of the Founding Fathers of this nation; if they do not provide the information a person should possess to be a good, responsible, productive citizen anymore – then the “low information voters” will only vote the way they are “told to vote.”
Do you see this as the way the leftists are able to gain this much traction in trying to revoke the 2ndAmendment?
What are some of the other, more recent newsworthy events going on right now that concern our 2ndAmendment rights? Like, either banning guns outright, or restricting gun rights?
There has to be some good news around somewhere, right? Situations where people are fighting back and achieving some sort of success at championing gun rights?
Can you tell us what recent victories your organization has seen and been a part of concerning the preservation of our Constitutional Rights? Specifically, as to the 2ndAmendment?
What dangers do you see coming on the horizon concerning gun rights, the 2ndAmendment, etc.?
Alan, it has been great talking with you today. I am a staunch believer in the people’s right to limit big government and I appreciate your organizations efforts to preserve our Constitutional Rights as well.

Facts. Something politicians do not want to hear today.
Facts. Things politicians cannot argue against. They can argue against theory. They skew statistics to read the way they want them to read. But they cannot argue against someone who uses FACTS to back up their arguments.
That is what politicians fear more than anything else in their quest to grab more and more power from the people of this nation. Facts.

If you enjoy your freedom; if you enjoy being able to sound off in using your First Amendment right of “Free Speech,” you can only do so by keeping your 2ndAmendment Right of allowing the people of this land to “keep and bear arms.” If you do not believe me, just look at various nations that took weapons out of the hands of the people. Soon, the freedom to speak contrary to government policy was shut down. The freedom to assemble was shut down. Any form of dissent was shut down.
And it all started with taking the ability of the people to resist their government away. Taking weapons out of the hands of the people. That IS the only thing standing between US today and following the pattern of other nations in history.
