Love Letters From Home – Meg Glesener pt 1
Letters From Home – Meg Glesener pt 1
Having served in the military and in some isolated places, called “hardship tours” back in the day…with no internet (it wasn’t even invented back then), almost everyone “missed home.” Going to the mail room to see if there was a letter or package was almost a daily ritual. And when there was a letter or package there, it was a special day!
Today, with the use of the internet and live streaming, etc., soldiers do not usually have to wait for weeks to hear from loved ones. But they also have special difficulties of “not being there” as well. But instead of weeks after the event, they may dealing with the emotions almost as they happen.
Why am I talking about this? Because my guest today has a podcast that sparked that trip down memory lane. Meg Glesener is the host of a podcast called “Letters from Home.” She interviews other Christians that bring a real life faith story to you as they share their dreams, their failures, their struggles and their pain. They share their life changing encounters and some extraordinary moments as well. This podcast is one that will leave you encouraged and inspired to love our Lord on an even deeper level.
Meg lives in Washington State, a beautiful scenic place – I served at Fort Lewis, outside of Tacoma, Washington and absolutely loved it there. But, Meg lives near Seattle, has been married for over 32 years to Mike and is the mother of 8 children (God bless you…). She serves as a youth leader for 11th grade girls at her church. She was named in Podcast Magazines “Top 50 Mom’s In Podcasting” – Praise the Lord – and she also serves as one of the admins of the Christian Podcasters Association! Amen!
Help me welcome to the program, host of the “Letters from Home Podcast,” Meg Glesener.
Meg, thank you for taking the time to come on the program today!
First question, other than that brief information I just shared, tell us in your own words, “Who is Meg Glesener?”
Tell us how and why you decided to start a podcast?
And you just Googled, “How to start a podcast?” That is the same way I started back in 2009!
I want to dive a little deeper into the name “Letters from Home.” Why that name?
How did you decide upon the format for this podcast?
I see one of your interviews was with Sean McCoy. I’ve interviewed him before and it was awesome!
How has evangelism changed over the years?
How does podcasting fit into the new evangelism role you just described?
