Rise and Win - Cory Carlson pt 1
Rise and Win
Cory Carlson pt 1
We all think we know what “winning in life” means. Right? I mean, we see successful people delivering key note speeches and earning thousands of dollars. They then sell their books or coaching programs and earn even more. They get on a plane and head off to the next key note or to a business meeting where they close a deal for millions of dollars before taking the next trip to wherever and do it all over again.
To all appearances, it seems like they have it all. The fancy house, the new car in the driveway every year or so. Travel, travel, travel.
We envy them and wish we could be like them.
But is that truly success?
If you check on many of these people, they may be on their second or even third marriage. They may have faced bankruptcy at least once, if not several times.
Sometime, they wish they could “be like you!”
My guest today used to chase those dreams. In fact, he lived what appeared to be a very successful life. Twenty years in corporate America gave Cory Carlson amazing opportunities as he worked his way up to the executive level. But, at the same time, he saw brokenness. He saw work without purpose, strained marriages and absentee parents.
He noticed that business leaders were especially suffering, not living life to its fullest.
But, when he discovered coaching, it helped him to become a better leader, a better husband and a better father. He then left his successful career to begin helping other leaders achieve a healthier work-life balance focused on God and family as well as career aspirations.
Cory is the author of two amazing book, “Win at Home First” and his most recent book, “Rise and Go.”
My first question I always start with is this. Other than that brief in formation I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Cory Carlson?”
Your background was 20 years as an executive in corporate America. You first used an executive coach to help you in your career. What was it about using this executive coach that made you believe you could help those that worked for you to become better at what they did and in their personal lives as well?
In your coaching, how much emphasis do you place on building up their Faith as well as the other aspects of work-life balance?
You are also an author. Your book, “Win at Home First” was your first book. Tell as a bit about this book and why you wrote it…
Folks, even if you are not a high level executive, the information contained in Cory Carlson’s books, “Win at Home First”and “Rise and Go” will definitely provide you with information you can use in your daily walk in life. No matter your career, you can always improve. But you do not want to be successful in business and forsake your family or your relationship with God.
In Mark 8:36, Jesus asks, “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose your own soul?”
Don’t be that type of person. Achieve that “work-life” balance. Start today, by going down into the show notes and getting in touch with Cory Carlson. And, while you’re in the show notes, click the links right there, right now, to order one or both of his books, “Win at Home First” and “Rise and Go.”
