Tested By Fire – Will Knecht pt 1
Too many Christian men today feel defeated, lonely or discouraged while striving to be the man that the world tells us to be. When things go well, we either take the credit in our pride or, in some cases, wonder if "success" is really worth it. We tend to ask questions like "Is this really success? Then why do I feel so empty?"
Or, at the other extreme, when times get tough, we tend to curl up in the fetal position asking God "Why?"
Will Knecht is the CEO of Wendell August in Grove City, PA, America’s oldest and largest metal crafter, which produces American made awards, gifts and commemoratives. Two days after receiving its largest order ever, a fire completely leveled his business and destroyed millions of dollars in equipment and materials, their factory, their offices and their flagship store. Instead of ceding to the devastation, the team at Wendell August turned this experience on its head and rather than cede to destruction, they used it to completely transform their company.
As Chairman of the multi-million dollar company, Will travels the country sharing the lessons learned through his hands on experience in the crucial day to day world of leading people. Will shares how God's plan is different than man's plan. He shares how God's definition of success is different than how man defines success. He says God wants us to live the victory He has won for us, regardless of the circumstances we might find ourselves in.
Ask the Lord: “What are you showing me?”
How do you relate that to Paul’s journey in Philippians 3:12-14?
I like how you refer to the “mind is a battlefield.” I can relate to that because of my military time. Explain that concept to our audience.
So, basically, when faced with a challenge, we need to take it to one of two kings. King ME or King Jesus?
You talk about your life as it relates to Galatians 2:20. Explain that to us…
You are super busy. I know that. But yet, you are taking the time to share these experiences with other men. That had to be something the Lord put in your heart to do?
Will, if someone wanted to get in touch with you, to ask a question or maybe invite you to come and speak at an event or conference, how can they do that? How can they get in touch with you?
Folks, we all go through “things in life.” We all face adversity. There is a saying that I heard in the military and I’ve used it often in my life. It says, “Success is not about how high you can go, but how high you can go after you bounce off the bottom.”
I encourage you to get into the Word. I encourage you to seek after God and His will for your life. And I encourage you to get in touch with Will Knecht. Ask him some questions. Subscribe to his blog! Praise God. There is some good stuff on there that will help you.
