The 3 C’s of Role Model

Caleb Woods pt 1

How would it feel to working for eight years in a job you love, a job you have a passion for, a job you excel in – and to be recognized by the founder of the company as who he wants to put in charge as the CEO? Do you think there is any pressure there? Oh, while the CEO continues to work at the company!

Well, our guest today has achieved that level of success – and doing it while maintaining his Christian core values and – we should add – the company’s core Christian values as well. Amen!

Caleb Woods grew up in Michigan and started working in a financial consulting firm while still in high school…praise God! While there, he progressed so fast he was soon began customizing CMS plugins and even writing some JavaScript himself. Amen!

He pursued a college degree in Computer Information and Technology through an accelerated program as part of CollegePlus. They were so impressed with his abilities, they offered him a position with their company.

Fast forward a bit and CollegePlus needed help from a software development company and, in the Lord’s plan and timing, Caleb was offered a position with this company, called RoleModel.

After working on a project building a cloud-based storage service for the Agricultural industry and streamlining that process, hew soon put in charge of other projects and provided great insights and initiated some applications that streamlined his company’s operations. For this, he was named the Software Director at RoleModel. He continued to take on more and more leadership roles as was quickly promoted to Chief Technology Officer.

Then, just a short time ago, Caleb was promoted by the business founder to role of Chief Executive Officer for RoleModel, a Christian founded custom software company in Holly Springs, NC.

Caleb says the purpose of RoleModel is to “glorify God by applying their craft to serve business innovators and collegues.” RoleModel is now 20 years old and is a world-class, collaborative software development team with over $5 million of projected revenue and over 30 employees that are all dedicated to delivering the highest quality, custom web and mobile software solutions while cultivating a work environment where community, family, learning and mentoring flourish. AMEN!

Help me welcome to the program, the Chief Executive Officer of RoleModel, Caleb Woods! Caleb, thank you for taking time away from running the show over at RoleModel to come and visit with us for a bit!

First question, other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Caleb Woods?”

And when you first started with CollegePlus, after graduating, what was that like? Just coming in out of college and, if you impressed them while in studies, how much pressure was on you when you arrived to actually work for them?

Were there certain habits you had developed that assisted you along the way?

When you first started with RoleModel Software, what were you working on that caught the attention of management that you were someone they wanted to groom into leadership?

Tell us about RoleModel Softare – what makes them stand out from the competition?

One phrase I seen, I want to ask you what it means. “Extracting expertise into custom software with small feedback loops.” That does that mean and how is this different from what other companies, such as RoleModel Software, how is this different from what they do?

You are a Christian and you stand for your Christian values. Is that one of the things that attracted you to working with RoleModel?

RoleModel Software Company uses the gifts and talents to honor God first and then you seek to serve your clients and bring them value. That is a tremendous statement! As a business to business company, is your faith reflected in how you serve your clients?

RoleModel has three core values: Character, Collaboration and Craftsmanship. Can you go over those three core values and explain to us how that has been implemented in your business and how it affects all that you do?

Tell us about the mentorship program at RoleModel Software and how this allows you to grow and build your internal resources, your current employees and raise them up to become leaders…

I encourage you to get in touch with Caleb Woods. Reach out to him. Ask him questions. See if he and his staff at RoleModel Software can assist you in developing that missing piece of the puzzle that will propel you to the next level of success. Ask Caleb to come and speak at your conferences. Basically, just get in touch with him today and at least start the conversation.

About your host

Profile picture for Robert Thibodeau

Robert Thibodeau

I am a 12 year Army veteran as both enlisted and as a commissioned Cavalry Officer.
I am now a retired law enforcement supervisor...

I had my own business for seven years before I entered law enforcement.

As a cop, I was injured on the job on May 12, 2007 and after several surgeries over a couple of years, forced to retire in 2011.

As I was looking down the road to “what am I going to do next?” I started what is now known as a podcast (I had no clue at the time).

Within six months of starting (what I called) “My online radio program” I was offered an opportunity to be on nationwide AM radio. I learned A LOT in one year of doing that!

I then started the online Christian radio platform "Evangelism Radio" in the fall of 2010. It has had listeners in 160+ nations and all 50 states. We host 50+ Christian broadcasters on a weekly basis. We have been operating 24/7 for almost 14 years now. We have been rated #1 in the world by Shoutcast. com on several occasions in our genre. We recently transferred ownership of Evangelism Radio to another ministry so I could concentrate full time on podcasting, preaching and writing.

In 2018, I started the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast to conduct interviews with Christian influencers from all walks of life and to play their interviews on the radio station. (The KCR Podcast has its own time slot on Evangelism Radio)!
We now have over 1600 episodes and almost 1100 interviews (in just over 6 years).

Looking out at the future of online Christian media, I noticed there was no viable platforms that catered only to the Christian podcast market.

In 2023, we launched a networking platform called, "FaithCasters" which connects "Great Christian podcasters with Great Christian Guests!" This helps to promote the work you do through podcast interviews! Check it out at https://FaithCaster.org

We recently launched "FaithCaster Academy" which serves as a training hub for ALL of our trainings (podcast training / speaker training / interview training, etc.). Members receive access to ALL of our training programs for one low, monthly membership fee. Members also receive FREE access to ALL of the LIVE trainings I conduct (1 or 2 per month) - while non-members have to pay to access the live trainings.

Between my podcast training program, conducting podcast interviews, appearing on other podcasts as guests, speaking at conferences (in person and virtually) and the podcast networking platform, I guess you could say “I’m all in” when it comes to podcasting and online media!

My total focus is to do all we can to assist you to “Get The Word Out” about your mission, services, products, ministry, books, business, etc.
