My Bible Study – Creation Day Four

Genesis Chapter One Verses 14-19 – Creation Day Four

Welcome to “My Bible Study,” a verse by verse walk through the Bible. So far, we have covered Day One, Day Two and Day Three. Today, we will go into Creation Day Four, beginning with Genesis chapter one, verse 14.

God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven.” Now he’s planting the stars and all that to divide the day from the night.

“Well, I thought he already did that in verse five?” What you’re talking about over here in verse five, “God called the light day and the darkness, He called night.”

Remember His glory is the light. His Creation needs light. He’s going over the whole earth. That’s why it says the Holy spirit was hovering upon the face of the waters.  As He is going over the waters, His physical appearance of The Glory goes with Him. As He is “over here,” it is light. But darkness is on the other side.

“But I thought God was omnipresent?”  He is. Remember, we are talking about PHYSICAL presence here! That’s what I’m trying to get you to understand.

Now in the process of Creation, He is creating the physical lights, the sun and the moon and the stars. In verse 14, scripture says, “Let them be for signs, for seasons, for days, and for years. Let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth. It was so.”

God said, “Let there be light in the affirmative of heaven to divide the day from the night.”

Let me ask you, how do we track our calendars?  It doesn’t matter which type of calendar you want to use.The Jewish calendar, Muslim calendar, a Roman calendar, a Greek, whatever, they use the sun and the earth and its 584 to 600 million mile trip around the sun, right? That’s what we base our calendars on.

The seasons are upon the position of the earth in those different four different quadrants on earth trip around the sun. The days and nights are on the Earth’s rotation as we make that trip around the sun. So that’s how we tell time. That’s how we tell seasons. That’s how we tell years. Exactly like the Bible says. Amen!

In verse 14, “Let them be for seasons for days and for years.” God’s still speaking here. God said, “Let the lights in the firmament heaven…” We are not talking here God’s heaven, but outer space. The second heaven. Remember we already talked about the third heaven, which is the atmosphere. What we are talking about now is the second heaven. God said, “Let them be for lights in the firmament of heaven to give light on the earth.”  And here we see the sun, the moon, the stars, and the Bible says, “It was so.”

Verse 16, “God made two great lights. The greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night.” That’s the sun and the moon. And He made the stars also. Some stars are even larger than our sun. That’s what stars are, other suns in the universe. So, in the process of Creation, God is creating the entire universe, not just our planet and solar system.

But scripture is clear here, that “God set them…”  He set them exactly where he wanted them to be. There is no “disorder” in Creation. And all of them were meant to give “light to the earth.”

Verse 18 says, “To rule over the day,” which is the sun, “to rule over the night,” which is the moon. “To divide the light from the darkness. God saw it was good. And the evening and the morning of the fourth day.”

I mentioned the video I seen by Dr. Carl Baugh where he explained the relationship between the three Heavens and the earth. In this video, he explained the atmosphere actually would vibrate according the stars shining there lights on the earth. This vibration would cause a sort of “symphony” that would play 24 hours per day on the earth. Heavenly music, which obviously, would be Praising God!  Amen! Talk about Creation!

And that was the evening of the morning, the first day, evening in the morning of the second day, the evening in the morning of the third day, and we just finished the evening and the morning of the fourth day. Folks, I hope you’re getting a lot out of this Creation story. I’m enjoying sharing it with you.
