Prayer 2021 – April 6 – Give Yourself to Prayer

Scripture For Today:

James 5:17

“Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.”

Give Yourself to Prayer

You do realize that there are those who don’t have or do not believe in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, right? Either way, they are missing out. They don’t have access to the same Power of God working in their lives, especially, their prayer life.

When we don’t give ourselves to prayer the way the Bible says we should be doing it, WE miss out on many of the blessings God says is rightfully ours.

I know many people rarely pray until something tragic happens that REQUIRES them to pray. Then, in some situations, it is actually too late to pray. That’s sad, but true.

I believe if we would just be more sensitive the leadership of the Holy Spirit, we could know ahead of time of the things coming that we should be praying about. I believe the Holy Spirit is searching for those who will give themselves to this kind of praying.

When we get up to Heaven and rewards are being passed out, there will be many disappointed people waiting for their names to be called but they never are called. I’m not saying they are not saved. I’m saying they should have been giving themselves to pray but didn’t – so they will not receive a reward like those who DO give themselves to pray.

There will be many big name Christians in that crowd, waiting and expecting their name to be called but never hear it. There will be many, many, MANY names called that are not known to the world but had given themselves to prayer and fasting on a frequent basis. They will be openly rewarded for their obedience to God. Amen!

I’m not saying we should be praying so we can get rewards in Heaven. No – that is NOT a reason to give yourself to prayer. You need to give yourself to prayer because this world NEEDS prayer. Your family, your friends, your co-workers need prayer.

These people don’t know they need prayer or are not proficient in prayer. They may need prayer because of something that has not happened yet, but the Holy Spirit sees it coming and is having you to pray so it does not happen.  Or they sense the presence of God as whatever it is does happen – and they are delivered from the trouble.

These are all things that you can be directly involved with, even though the person may never know what you prayed about. Whether you directly know the impact your prayers made or not really does not matter, either. So don’t go asking them or saying anything about what the Holy Spirit showed you. It was shown you so you could pray. Not so you could brag. Amen!

Let’s pray!
