Scripture For Today:

 Psalm 42:8

“By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.”

Praying for Those in Authority pt 3

We  have been studying about the importance of praying for our leaders and those in authority. The Apostle Paul said in 1 Timothy 2:1-2:

1 Timothy 2:1-2 says:

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men; for kings and for all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”

What we are learning is that God is concerned with us. He will change things in our nation IF we ask Him to. Everyone is familiar with 2 Chronicles 7:14. This verse clearly says that it does not take everyone in the nation to pray and repent and ask God for healing in our land – but Christian. Believers have the power and the authority to affect things going on in our government.

Amen!

I’m not just talking about at the ballot box, though that is one very important aspect of it. But through PRAYER, we can influence those in authority to do God’s Will – even when they do not know it IS God’s Will. They will just do what the Holy Spirit inspires them to do to accomplish God’s Will.

And, we know from studying scriptures, that sometimes that influence includes things we do not want to happen – but that MUST happen – in order to more effectively bring about God’s Will.

Think about the Holocaust. Absolutely terrible. Over six million Jewish men, women and children murdered. Why did God allow that to happen?

To bring about the fulfillment of scripture that said in Isaiah 66:8 – “Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once?”

Absolutely, the Holocaust was terrible. But yet, God allowed it to happen through evil men in order to fulfill scripture. These Jews BELIEVED in God. So, when they departed this world, in whatever fashion, they were secure in their beliefs.

We should be the same way.

As we see this entire society going to hell in a hand-basket, we have nothing to fear. Nothing. Not ONE THING!

We studied a few days ago that we are not to have a CARE IN THIS WORLD. Another way to say that is “we are not care for this world.”

I know I don’t.

It concerns me when I see this government embracing Satanism and other immoral things. But it does not affect me. I rejoice!

Rejoice, Brother Bob?

Absolutely!  I laugh at what they are doing – thinking they are defeating my God!  I rejoice when I see all of the signs of the soon return of Jesus happening right before my eyes!

In Luke 10:24, Jesus said, “Blessed are your eyes that see what you see. For I tell you, many prophets and kings desired to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

Luke 21:28 says, “And when these things BEGIN TO COME TO PASS (which they are), then look up, and lift up your heads, for your redemption is drawing near!”
