Prayer 2021 – Prayer of Agreement, Binding and Loosing pt 1

Scripture For Today:

 Proverbs 15:8

“The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.”

Prayer of Agreement, Binding and Loosing pt 1

We are learning how to pray IN the Power of God, instead of our own strength or in our desperation.

Let’s turn over to Matthew 18:18 …now, we have laid an extensive foundation in Ephesians 6:10-18 where we were discussing about praying at all times with all types of prayer…but to save time, I want to just go to Matthew 18:18.  Amen!

This discusses the Law of Binding and Loosing.  Ephesians 6 talks about the Principalities and powers of darkness in heavenly places.  We studied that is NOT in God’s Throne room – it concerns the atmosphere surrounding the earth.  According to Matthew 18:18 – we can bind these wicked spirits from executing their plans against us and / or interfering with our plans to serve Jesus!  Amen!

So, what we bind on earth – in agreement with each other and in agreement with the Word of God – IS BOUND IN this atmospheric heaven – amen!  Now, go to verse 19-20.

In the midst of us carrying out this power of agreement…we need to know the context in which Jesus was teaching His disciples.  Always read the Bible in context.  You must always know what the situation was when the Lord gave a particular scripture….like the old adage about quoting scripture in context….the Bible says, “Judas hung himself…and another place says, “Go and do thou likewise.”   So, you want to quote scripture in context – amen!

Anyway…in Matthew 18:15 – we see Jesus is discussing if you have a problem with a brother – another believer….what you should do.  He does not say to go and blab it all over town or put it on Facebook or whatever…NO.  He says to go and talk to your brother and discuss the problem…if that does not work…get a couple of believers who will pray in agreement with you about the situation…maybe even go talk to your brother and try to help you work out the problem… and if that does not work – then go to the leaders of the church and get them to pray in agreement with you about the situation and perhaps intercede with your brother…but the important part I want to emphasize today – is getting into agreement with other believers in prayer.  The power of agreement puts the angels to work in your behalf according to Hebrews 1:14.

Ephesians 6 talks about NOT praying against your brother – don’t do that!  Our warfare IS NOT against flesh and blood – it is against the devil and those that work with him….DO NOT PRAY AGAINST OTHER PEOPLE.  That is a form of witchcraft – and praying like that will do nothing to move God to work in your behalf…but it opens you up to all the demonic forces that you do not want to deal with….and the devil is so slick…he may just help you out against your brother so you think your prayer was answered…but it was not answered by God….so next time something happens…you find yourself praying the same type of prayer…but the devil is the one you actually have working in your behalf…until the time comes when you accept him into your life, your family, your finances, whatever…unknowingly…but then it is soooo hard to get him out….so don’t open that door to begin with.  Amen!
