The Peacemaker’s Path

Jerry Zehr pt 1

We see division all around us today. We are divided politically, socially, racially, economically. We are divided religiously as well. Even Christians are divided amongst ourselves in various denominations. And even denominations are divided. You have, for example, the Baptists, the Southern Baptists, Reformed Baptists, Independent Baptists – I could go on and on.

The point being, with all of this division going on, is there any wonder we are seeing the turmoil in our society? We need to come together around commonality. We need to come together in unity.

In order to do that, we must begin to TALK with each other, commune with each other and try to understand each other on a deeper level than just what divides us.

My guest today has been on the front lines of doing just that. Jerry Zehr is an ordained minister with a Masters of Divinity from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana. He’s been in the ministry for over 30 years, but his background has not always been one of Faith.

His grandparents were Amish and he grew up in a Mennonite home.

He tried his hand at acting and was part of a traveling dinner theater circuit as a singer and actor. In fact, he appeared on the Johnny Carson show one time as well.

Jerry has served as a pastor and leader in interfaith ministries, helping to create four interfaith organizations such as the Carmel Interfaith Alliance and the Indiana Multi-faith Network.

He is an author of several books, his most recent is titled, “The Peacemakers Path: Multi-Faith Reflections to Deepen Your Spirituality.”

Why did you believe now was the time to write this book, “The Peacemaker’s Path?”

What does “The Peacemaker’s Path” try to accomplish? What religions or faith’s does this book address?

How does this book go about to accomplish this concept of building bridges?

What first led you to develop this type of inter-faith bridge building?

You grew up in a Amish town. How did your background impact what you are doing now? Especially with this book and your work on Inter-Faith cooperation, etc?

Why do you believe there is such division and polarization between different religions today?

You also wrote a book titled, “Blurring the Lines” that shares about your time working in the entertainment industry. How did that book and what you shared in “Blurring the Lines,” shape what you are doing today and develop the content of your book, “The Peacemaker’s Path?”

Folks, there is no doubt that the devil is doing his best to destroy our society today. And one of the main tactics he employs is division. You can see it every single night on the news. Jerry Zehr is doing his best to bridge those walls of division, mistrust, etc. in bringing together people of different backgrounds, different beliefs and different faiths. He is not doing this to magnify the differences, but to accentuate the commonalities, traits where we are alike. Amen!

I believe this is one book you definitely need to add to your reading collection.

Robert Thibodeau

I am a 12 year Army veteran as both enlisted and as a commissioned Cavalry Officer.
I am now a retired law enforcement supervisor...

I had my own business for seven years before I entered law enforcement.

As a cop, I was injured on the job on May 12, 2007 and after several surgeries over a couple of years, forced to retire in 2011.

As I was looking down the road to “what am I going to do next?” I started what is now known as a podcast (I had no clue at the time).

Within six months of starting (what I called) “My online radio program” I was offered an opportunity to be on nationwide AM radio. I learned A LOT in one year of doing that!

I then started the online Christian radio platform "Evangelism Radio" in the fall of 2010. It has had listeners in 160+ nations and all 50 states. We host 50+ Christian broadcasters on a weekly basis. We have been operating 24/7 for almost 14 years now. We have been rated #1 in the world by Shoutcast. com on several occasions in our genre. We recently transferred ownership of Evangelism Radio to another ministry so I could concentrate full time on podcasting, preaching and writing.

In 2018, I started the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast to conduct interviews with Christian influencers from all walks of life and to play their interviews on the radio station. (The KCR Podcast has its own time slot on Evangelism Radio)!
We now have over 1600 episodes and almost 1100 interviews (in just over 6 years).

Looking out at the future of online Christian media, I noticed there was no viable platforms that catered only to the Christian podcast market.

In 2023, we launched a networking platform called, "FaithCasters" which connects "Great Christian podcasters with Great Christian Guests!" This helps to promote the work you do through podcast interviews! Check it out at https://FaithCaster.org

We recently launched "FaithCaster Academy" which serves as a training hub for ALL of our trainings (podcast training / speaker training / interview training, etc.). Members receive access to ALL of our training programs for one low, monthly membership fee. Members also receive FREE access to ALL of the LIVE trainings I conduct (1 or 2 per month) - while non-members have to pay to access the live trainings.

Between my podcast training program, conducting podcast interviews, appearing on other podcasts as guests, speaking at conferences (in person and virtually) and the podcast networking platform, I guess you could say “I’m all in” when it comes to podcasting and online media!

My total focus is to do all we can to assist you to “Get The Word Out” about your mission, services, products, ministry, books, business, etc.
