Sovereign Mindset
Don Abad
Many Christian people are business owners. Many business owners are Christians. We live in this world, not separate from this world. We are here to share the Gospel and we don’t have to hit people over the head to do so. Often, it is how we live our life and how we conduct our business. Our guest today has successfully bridged that gap and has grown a successful business while sharing his faith. Don Abad is a creative consultant, speaker and the founder of “Sovereign Stories,” which offers post-production solutions for values-focused filmmakers and content creators. Don is a second generation network marketer, who, alongside his wife Kimmi, built his family’s freedom through their homebased business. Don coaches teams of fellow entrepreneurs through his unique, “Your Sovereign Downline Training Program.” Don and his wife, Kimmi, also host of “Your Sovereign Downline Podcast,” where they share lessons learned from over ten years in the network marketing industry and discuss “best tip strategies” for building a home-based business. Don’s other podcast is “Sovereign” and is dedicated to sharing “Faith, Family and Freedom” and emphasizes the need to have more storytellers to promote these values in a person’s life. Don and his wife strive to help married entrepreneurs and other high-achievers discover or rediscover their purpose and to leave a legacy to their family and their community. First question… other than that brief information I shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Don Abad?” From what I’ve read and listened to, while preparing for today’s interview, I know Faith is a very integral part of your life and business. Can you explain how you successfully run your business while also successfully balance “Faith and Family” at the same time? Why did you decide to name your brand “Sovereign?” Many people look at network marketing, and I’ll just add, through affiliate marketing into this question as well, as a tabu where it comes to a career choice. But, if they actually stop to think about it, every time they go to the grocery store, retail outlet, or put gas in their car – involves some type of network marketing and affiliate marketing. What are your thoughts on that? How to you share your marketing knowledge with pastors, churches, etc. in an effort to help them increase their cash flow? Either personally or corporately? How long have you been doing your podcast, “Your Sovereign Downline?” You are into filmmaking and things like that… Share with us how important video can be in sharing our story – whatever that story may be? Jesus was the Master Storyteller! Back on “Faith, Family and Freedom,” your focus really is on storytelling in each one of those pillars. We talked briefly on “Faith and Family.” But what do you mean by “Freedom” in the context of your brand? You offer coaching and consulting services in your business. Who is the type of person your business is set up to help? Give us your opinion of who would benefit the most from working with you and what would they gain from doing so? Don, this has all been so interesting. I have learned some things today and I know our listeners have as well. Folks, we are marketing ourselves all of the time. Every single person listening to us right now. From the people you meet to the people you work with; from talking with your neighbor or talking with your boss, we usually are trying to leave a good impression, perhaps negotiate a better deal, pay raise, sales, whatever. In order to do that, as Don Abad has shared today, we need to keep the focus on “Faith” then “Family” then “Freedom.” Faith keeps us grounded in that we should always put representing the Lord and His values above all else. This just results in greater blessings all the way around… Just asking yourself, “What would Jesus do” in this situation? How will this honor Him? Family – keeping our family at the forefront of all we are doing, in business, in relationships, etc. Ask yourself, “Will this hurt or help my family?” Then act accordingly. Then, Freedom. You need the freedom to do what needs to be done. You need the freedom to do what is best for you and your family. But, with freedom, comes a great responsibility. When I was in the military, I had a saying that I emphasized over and over. “Do what is right, because it is right. Then do it right.” That pretty well sums up what Don Abad has been sharing with us today as well. Don, I appreciate your time today and I look forward to staying in touch!CONTACT INFORMATION:
