Many of us love a break from reality from time to time. Just to let ourselves go to get immersed in a crime drama on television or some fictional story. Of course, as Christians and being enlightened to be on guard, we also tend to lean more towards our roots. I guess that is why movies like “The Da Vinci Code” and “The Passion of Christ.”

But there are times I like to dive into a great book. Actually, I’m an avid reader. I enjoy reading and always have. And to find a suspenseful Christian novel is, well, for me – really entertaining. Especially when the novel is, shall we say, based on reality a bit.

Now, before you get all up in arms about “How can it be fiction and relate to reality?” type of attitude, let me just remind you about some shows on television that preface the show by saying something to the effect of “this show is not based on any events or real persons.” But yet, you would swear the story line came from a news event a few months back, right?

Well, that is what my guest has done with her new book. Brandy Alexander is the author of “Genesis: A Paranormal Alliance Destined to Fight the Powers of Darkness”  This book is a completely fictional story but set in a Christian story telling format that involves angels, demons and spirits. It is a fast paced thriller that will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next. Amen!

Brandy Alexander grew up along the Texas Gulf Coast and found adventure and friendship within the pages of many different books. When she wasn’t swimming or exploring or pretending to be a teacher, she would spend days at a time lost in the fictional world of religious paranormal fantasy.

Brandy finished college and began teaching Art and Theatre and eventually English Language Arts and Reading and Writing. This was just a natural extension of her creative talents when she decided to put those talents to use writing her first novel. She is a devoted Christian who enjoys time with her husband and son.

First question. Other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Brandy Alexander?”

Tell us about where you grew up? It sounds like you had to find a lot of time entertaining yourself…

Why did you write this novel? What was the ultimate purpose in publishing it right now?

Tell us about this novel. I know it starts off with the main character, Clayton, losing his brother in a drowning accident.  That leads to a unique, I guess we can call it, a “gift” that he discovers he has, right?

And now the crux of the story is about him working with some, other friends, I guess we could say, to do what?

Based upon this book, what is the relationship you are portraying between faith and our journey through life?

That also occurs in our very own lives. There are times when God is doing something and we don’t realize it is God until a lot later, right?

Clayton realizes that God is working in his life in ways he does not realize, right?

I don’t want you to give away the ending, but let me ask you this.  Are there other books coming out that continue this story line? Like a series?

Folks, like I said in the beginning, sometimes we just want to take seek a place where we can  immerse ourselves and use our imagination to take a break from reality for a few minutes. That is why television is so popular. But the drawback is, it doesn’t allow you to USE your imagination. It plays out in living color on the screen.
