Prayer 2021 – April 3 – Intercession and Supplication pt 2

Scripture For Today:

1 Kings 8:33

“When your people Israel have been defeated by an enemy because they have sinned against you, and when they turn back to you and give praise to your name, praying and making supplication to you in this temple,”

Intercession and Supplication part two

We have been talking about prayers of intercession and supplication for others. We’ve been talking about praying in other tongues as led by the Holy Spirit. We’ve been talking about groanings and utterances by the Holy Spirit.

I want to share a very important aspect of this, especially when it comes to the prayer of intercession. When we pray for the lost, many times YOU will have a burden of guilt and of sin – that “lost feeling” over take you!  You, in your own spirit, will sense that feeling of being lost and destined to hell. You sense it in your own spirit and in your consciousness. That is because you are taking this person place in prayer. You are interceding for them in prayer. Amen.

This does not happen all of the time. But I have sensed it enough to recognize it when it does happen. I remember the first time, I thought something was wrong with “my spirit.” That perhaps I was actually the one who was lost and God was trying to make me aware of it.

It was not until a little bit later when the Holy Spirit showed me a vision of the person I was praying for. I do not know where this person was or who they were. I’ve never met them. But I know the Holy Spirit showed me this person so I would not feel condemnation on my own soul and believe the lie the devil was trying to tell me.

I had interceded in the spirit for another lost person – which is totally scriptural. The devil was trying to make me believe “I was the lost person” and that I had never been forgiven, born again, called by God, etc. Because this was a new spiritual walk for me, the Holy Spirit allowed me to visually “see” what had happened.

There have only been a few more times over the last 25 years or so where I had a vision of the person I was interceding for. Why? I don’t know. I don’t ask. I don’t ask because it really does not matter.

“Why would you say it doesn’t matter, brother Bob? Wouldn’t it be a lot more effective to see the person you were praying for?”

Short answer… NO!  Because then you start to look for those visions. And remember, the devil will be more than happy to accommodate you in moving into the physical senses, especially when it comes to praying is concerned.

Do not go into the prayer of intercession desiring, seeking or asking for a vision or anything else. What you are doing in Spiritual Warfare. Amen! Not physical. SPIRITUAL.

Just trust the Power of the Holy Spirit to take care of whoever you are praying for. Pray and continue to pray in the Spirit until you sense of release to stop. Whether you never find out who or what you were praying about does not matter. Just thank God for the opportunity and believe God for the answer.
